Personal Care
Our team comprised of nurses, MNAs LNAs, and caregivers will meet residents where they are and will assist them with activities of daily living including personal hygiene (bathing, grooming, oral care), dressing, eating, toileting, and transfers.
Memory Care at Harmony Homes By the Bay
Our Memory Care Program offers specialized supervision and a secured environment for residents with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Our facility and activities program is designed to provide a familiar and supportive atmosphere for our residents to fulfill their potential and succeed.
Our nursing staff will provide oversight of all medications prescribed to our residents. They will coordinate care with our in-house Nurse Practitioner, outside medical doctors, and third party services providing physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. Our nurses will manage the ordering, receiving, preparation, and storage of medications so that you or your loved one receives the care they need without the worry of having to manage medications.
Nurse Practitioner
As a convenience to our residents, we have a traveling nurse practitioner that will see and evaluate residents as needed without having to coordinate rides to and from doctor’s offices. This allows the resident to be assessed faster and to be seen in the comforts of their own home. Residents can see our in-house nurse practitioner, or choose to stay with their primary care physician.
Housekeeping
Our friendly and caring housekeepers will provide light cleaning services of resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, and hallways. Laundry services including laundering clothing, bedding, towels, etc. are also provided for our residents.
Activities Program
Our Activities Director works to provide an extensive activities program that seeks to physically, socially, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually stimulate our residents on a daily basis. Activities include live entertainment, bingo, arts & crafts, book club, Bible study, chair chi, trivia, baking, and more. During the summer months, community outings are scheduled weekly and have included live plays, baseball games, cruises, picnics, beach trips, restaurant outings, and shopping trips. We listen to the feedback from our residents for the continuous improvement and addition to our activities program.
While lounging near the fireplace in our large and sunny dining rooms, residents can relax and socialize with old friends as well as make new friends. Our culinary team is dedicated to taking classic resident favorites and putting a new creative twist on them. At Harmony Homes By the Bay, our Registered Dietitian will work with our residents to develop a nutritional care plan that meets their dietary preferences and diet order but also tastes delicious.
Our facilities provide an emergency call system for all residents including a door guardian system for memory care residents. By the simple press of a button, a resident can notify staff of an emergency and get the immediate assistance they require. Our buildings are also equipped with 24/7 surveillance cameras surrounding the premises. Families can be assured that their loved ones are sleeping soundly and safely at night.
Day Care
Our facilities also provide an Adult Day Care Program that features complete care in our family environment. With our care, we can ease the burden on family members during the day. Come once or twice a week or even daily, the choice is up to you. Day Care residents are provided with the same activities and outings as the residential care residents and two to three meals and snacks are provided daily.
Respite Care
If you need to travel or become sick yourself, we can provide gentle and comprehensive care of your family members in need of care for a short period. Similar to adult daycare residents and residential residents, respite care residents have access to all activities and outings and are provided with assistance for all medications, activities of daily living, and three meals and snacks daily.
Extras
In addition to our routine services, we also provide hair cutting/styling at our hair salon, bi-monthly foot clinics, assistance to and from doctor’s appointments, as well as private phone and cable lines in the resident’s room.
